When winter tires help save fuel and the environment
Finnish tire manufacturer Nokian just introduced a new generation of winter tire, its legendary specialty, the Hakkapeliitta 10. Obviously, at first, Nokian points out all the mechanical novelties of the product like treadware design and other specifications.
Yet, Nokian has also pioneered new techniques of production that help the tires reduce carbon dioxide emissions in many ways. For consumers, one of them is reducing the tire’s rolling resistance, a technique that was never explored by tire makers yet in the winter tire category. Just that should be enough to reduce carbon dioxide emissions thanks to this fuel saving approach! Consequently, Nokian Tyres should be considered an industry pioneer.
