THE NEXT ACURA NSX WILL SURELY BE ELECTRIC

By Éric Descarries

At the recent Tokyo Motor Show (renamed the Mobility Show) and especially at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last January, Honda unveiled several prototypes and styling studies of upcoming electric vehicles (O Series), without, however, specifying whether these vehicles would someday be produced.

However, one thing is certain: the company’s president, Toshihiro Mibe, has confirmed that an all-electric sports car is in the Japanese manufacturer’s plans. So far, nothing has been revealed about the production of this sports car, but some documents published by Honda indicate that it could be a possible replacement for the Honda NSX (New Sportscar Xperimental), which would become the Acura NSX in North America. Therefore, many observers and publications are referring to a Honda event held last August in Monterey, California, where sketches were shown under the name Acura Electric Vision Design Study. We now believe that these sketches could very well be the silhouette of the new NSX . . . all-electric.
