IONNA LAUNCHES TO REVOLUTIONIZE EV CHARGING WITH A HIGH-POWER NETWORK

IONNA, a joint venture among seven leading automakers – BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis – has officially begun operations in North America. This initiative, approved by regulatory agencies, plans to deploy a minimum of 30,000 high-power charging stations across the region. The network aims to elevate the customer experience by ensuring compatibility with all electric vehicles having NACS or CCS connectors, offering amenities like restrooms, food services, and retail operations, and integrating digital technologies for a seamless charging experience. Seth Cutler, with extensive experience in electric mobility and infrastructure, has been appointed as CEO. Under his leadership, IONNA aspires to create a convenient, reliable, and environmentally sustainable charging network, powered by renewable energy. The first charging stations are expected in the U.S. in 2024, with subsequent expansion into Canada. IONNA’s strategic positioning of chargers supports long-distance travel and aligns with the sustainability goals of its automaker partners.
