SHERBROOKE: SYSNERGIE DEVELOPS A MULTI-PURPOSE BATTERY
By Anne Bourgoin
Sherbrooke-based start-up SysNergie, founded in 2022, offers a battery platform that can be configured in multiple ways. “We wanted to make a battery that would be like a Lego block. It can be used as a stand-alone unit or in a multi-modular way. It’s also very powerful and compact. Another advantage is its weight. It’s about three times lighter than a traditional lead-acid battery,” explains company co-founder Félix-Antoine LeBel.
SysNergie started out as a custom-design company, but the three founders realized that there was an unmet need in the market for quality, multi-purpose batteries.
SysNergie has just won a $15,000 Pierre-Péladeau grant, which will help it launch manufacturing within two years by setting up a facility. Prototypes are already being tested by some of the start-up’s customers.x
