HONDA’S ELECTRIC FUTURE UNVEILED AT CES 2024

By Isabelle Havasy

Honda made its mark at CES 2024 with the presentation of two innovative “Honda 0” concepts, its new series of electric vehicles (EVs): the Saloon and the Space-Hub. In 2026, Honda will launch its first model based on the Saloon concept in North America. The Japanese automaker is also adopting a revamped “H” badge, exclusive to this electrified line-up.

“The mobility we dream of is not a continuation of the ‘large, heavy, but smart’ EV trend,” said Toshihiro Mibe, Honda’s global CEO. The flagship concept of the “Honda 0” series, the Saloon is a sedan that puts individuals at the heart of the experience. Based on a platform dedicated to EVs, it combines design and functionality. Drawing on the company’s decades of expertise in robotics, it deploys the automaker’s technological advances, including new electric steering and motion control systems.

Developed to improve everyday life, the Space-Hub “utility vehicle” boasts a spacious, versatile interior that aims to facilitate connection between people and with the outside world. This concept embodies the principles of finesse, lightness and rationality.

The “Honda 0” series incorporates innovations in design, automated driving, connected technologies, aerodynamics and battery efficiency. With this unconventional approach to design and engineering—“starting from zero”—the automaker seeks to bring “driving pleasure” into the EV era.
