LUCID GRAVITY: LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE POWERING ELECTRIC MOBILITY
By Isabelle Havasy
At a time when the market for high-end electric SUVs is booming, Lucid unveils the Gravity. “Just as Lucid Air redefined the sedan category, Gravity will have an impact on the world of luxury SUVs,” reckons Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson.
This innovative SUV features a spacious interior that can accommodate seven adults. Combining form and function, Gravity’s sleek design emphasizes space, aerodynamics and versatility. Focused on efficiency, it boasts a drag coefficient of less than 0.24, unheard of in the three-row SUV segment. Flexible cargo areas, sliding second-row seats and state-of-the-art technology reflect Lucid’s commitment to user-centric vehicle design.
Gravity stands out for its performance, delivering acceleration from 0 km to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds, over 680 kg payload capacity and a maximum towing capacity of 2,722 kg. For easier handling on various types of terrain, Lucid introduced Zero Gravity, an optional air suspension system.
Despite a smaller, lighter battery pack, the Gravity promises a range of 640 km. Thanks to its quick-charge system, it can recover half its power in only fifteen minutes. “Gravity will take our customers further with fewer batteries and therefore using less precious energy,” maintains the CEO.
With a price tag of under USD 80,000 and production scheduled for late 2024, the Lucid Gravity is reshaping the landscape of luxury electric SUVs.
