HONDA CIVIC HYBRIDS BUILT IN CANADA

By Éric Descarries

As announced earlier, Japanese automaker Honda plans to increase production of its Civic sedans at its Canadian plant in Alliston, Ontario. However, despite the fact that Dave Jamieson, COO of Honda Canada, admitted that an entry-level version would not be built there, Yoshiyuki Nakazawa, General Manager of Honda Canada Mfg, has just announced that the Canadian plant will also be building 2025 Civic Hybrid sedans starting in the spring of 2024 (while Honda’s Greensburg, Indiana plant will build the hatchback version a little later).

This marks a comeback for the Civic Hybrid in Canada, a configuration that has been absent for some ten years. It will join the VUM CR-V Hybrid already in production at Alliston.
