EXPECT A NEW EV PLATFORM FROM STELLANTIS

By Éric Descarries

If you think Stellantis has fallen behind the competition when it comes to electric vehicles, wait until you see the new platform the international manufacturer has just developed.

Codenamed STLA Medium, it should be found under some 2 million EVs a year, and should offer a range of up to 700 km while remaining at 400 volts. The first vehicle to feature this platform will be the Peugeot 3,008 crossover, which will go on sale in Europe by the end of the year.

This platform is the first of four promised by Stellantis in 2021, following PSA’s union with FiatChrysler. The rest (STLA Small, STLA Large and STLA Frame) should follow shortly. In America, Chrysler and Jeep products should be available on this platform.
