WHY IS FORD COMING BACK TO FORMULA ONE ?

You probably have heard or read that Ford is coming back to Formula One after a more than 20-year hiatus. Gearing up for another Ford vs. Ferrari Challenge? Not really!

Ford will be returning to Formula One in 2026 (with Red Bull) because the new rules in that international series are heading toward the electrification of its vehicles. Since Ford is already very much into vehicle electrification as the automaker has already committed more than $50 billion US in EV development and is already producing some 50,000 EVs a month (and looking at more than 160,000 a month by the end of 2026), it looks very logical for such an important manufacturer to be involved in a motorsport that is gaining popularity (mostly in North America) where other competing manufacturers might very well get involved too!
