CHEVY’S FNR-XE CONCEPT, AN ULTIUM CAR

Chevrolet recently unveiled its FNR-XE Concept EV, a small electric car developed for the Chinese market. Though destined to the Asian market, it is interesting for North America since, when and if produced, it would be the first four-door sedan that GM has conceived on an Ultium base that could be mass-produced. The car is very low, including a low passenger compartment that might prove that GM can package its large Ultium cells beneath the passenger area in a regular sedan.

Though the car is not slated for the American market, since GM is looking at globally producing some 30 new EV models by 2025, observers think this concept could be an affordable sedan within the North American market that could compete with the Tesla Model 3.
