EV6 GT, POWER TO SPARE

Unveiled last August during the Monterey Car Week festivities in California, the 2023 Kia EV6 GT is making its debut in the country. With 576 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque, it becomes the most powerful production vehicle ever made by the South Korean automaker. This level of power puts it in competition with more exotic models such as the Porsche Taycan GTS (509 hp), the Audi S8 (563 hp) and the Aston Martin DBX with its 542 hp.

“The EV6 GT demonstrates Kia’s continued ability to break boundaries and expectations,” said Elias El-Achhab, general manager of operations at Kia Canada, in a statement.

Equipped with a duo of engines and a 77.4 kWh battery, the GT goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.55 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 259 km/h. The GT uses the same battery as the two top-of-the-line versions of the EV6, but as a bonus, it gets a more powerful 160-kilowatt front motor and a 270-kilowatt rear motor. However, this power reduces its range to 331 kilometres, which is more than 100 kilometres less than that of the AWD variants of the EV6 (444 km).

The EV6’s increase in power also comes with a starting price of $76,495.
