CHILDREN, KEY INFLUENCES IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE PURCHASES
To mark World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day, ABB E-mobility, a global leader in EV charging solutions, conducted a survey of 2,500 parents and 2,500 children between the ages of 8 and 16 in the company’s ten largest markets (Canada, China, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States).
The data show that not only do children educate their parents about the environment (58.1% of parents testified), but they are also involved in discussions regarding major purchases, such as EVs.
82.6% of children (94.6% in China) intend to drive an electric or hybrid vehicle when they have the opportunity.
“It is encouraging to see that the results of our global study reveals the enthusiasm and determination of young people, as well as the growing dialogue and action between generations, to move toward a low-carbon future,” said Frank Muehlon, CEO of ABB E-mobility.
