SONO MOTORS ANNOUNCES A WEEKLY RANGE OF 240KM FOR THE SION

Sono Motors has just introduced a production-ready version of its solar-powered EV, the Sion. The vehicle is scheduled for production in the second half of 2023.

In addition to a 54 kWh battery providing a range of 300 km, the Sion benefits from 456 solar half-cell spread across its body panels. Solar power adds an average of 100 km of range per week and up to 240 km in ideal conditions.

As of July 1, Sono Motors had more than 19,000 reservation holders with a $2,225 down payment on the expected base price of $29,300.

While production validation vehicles will be used for testing in Europe and the U.S., the company has not yet announced anything for Canada.
