Statistics Canada releases its 2021 Q3 sales data

As expected, Canadian ZEV sales are progressing, but are still trailing behind the sales of global leaders.

 

This latest data from StatCan shows that a ZEV mandate, combined with ZEV incentives, is absolutely needed to make sure that Canada does indeed become a global ZEV adoption leader.

 

Canada – Q3 of 2021:

 

– 5.4% of Canadian sales were ZEVs, with 2/3 BEVs and 1/3 PHEVs

– 11.9% of BC sales were ZEVs, with 75% BEVs and 25% PHEVs

– 9.5% of Quebec sales were ZEVs, with 60% BEVs and 40% PHEVs

– 3.6% of PEI sales were ZEVs, with 80% BEVs and 20% PHEVs

– 3% of Ontario sales were ZEVs, with 70% BEVs and 30% PHEVs

– 1.8% of NB sales were ZEVs, with 75% BEVs and 25% PHEVs

– 1.6% of Manitoba sales were ZEVs, with 57% BEVs and 43% PHEVs

– 1.2% of Saskatchewan sales were ZEVs, with 63% BEVs and 47% PHEVs
