NEW MERCEDES PLATFORMS WILL BE EV ONLY FROM 2025

Following the decision of many other EV auto manufacturers, it was Mercedes-Benz’s parent company Daimler’s turn to recently unveil its EV strategy with plans to introduce only new EV platforms after 2025 and to prepare for an all-electric future after 2030. Following the arrival of Mercedes-Benz EVs including the EQS sedan arriving on sale later this year, Mercedes should have an EV in every segment on the industry by next year.

More specifically, Daimler plans to rely on three main EV platforms starting in 2025. Those will cover a vast majority of battery-electric models the automaker plans to introduce, including one for medium to large passenger cars, one for AMG performance models, and one for passenger and commercial vans in the coming years.
