LiveWire will become an official brand
Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire electric motorcycle will become a standalone all-electric brand according to a company’s recent press release. To celebrate the event, the first LiveWire-branded motorcycle will be unveiled on July 8, just before the International Motorcycle Show in Irvine, California.
According to Harley-Davidson, LiveWire will be “headquartered virtually,” with people working in Silicon Valley and Milwaukee. This new brand will get its own engineering team dedicated to electric powertrains. Yet, it will also depend on Harley’s existing engineering and manufacturing departments. Right now, the current Harley-Davidson LiveWire is built at the same York, Pennsylvania, factory with other products of the manufacturer. First shown at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, the actual Harley-Davidson LiveWire has a 110-mile range and can reach 60 mph (96 kph) in 3.5 seconds.
