Quebec and Ottawa invest $ 100 M in Lion
Ottawa and Quebec goverments recently announced they would invest $ 110 M in an electric vehicle battery plant for Montreal area truck maker Lion. This project should create some 135 jobs once the plant is completed in 2023. The announcement was made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Quebec Premier François Legault in Montreal.
Each government will invest $ 50 M while Lion will add $ 85 M in the project that should include and assembly plant of battery packs in St-Jerôme, north of Montreal. For Lion, this means the new plant will help the company control costs tied to the design and the production of the batteries.
