JLR will offer Evoque and Discovery Sport PHEVs
Jaguar-Land Rover (JLR) is adding a Range Rover Evoque and a Land Rover Discovery Sport with plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology to its premium compact SUV line of products.
Named P300e, these two models share a new Ingenium 200 hp three cylinder 1.5-litre gasoline engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission and an 80 kW electric rear axle drive motor powered by a 15 kWh lithium-ion battery located below the rear seats.
According to the manufacturer, the Evoque P300e will have a range of up to 66 kilometres in electric mode and the Discovery Sport P300e, 62 kilometres.
Fast and easy charging will be a staple of both SUVs with a 0-80 percent recharge in as little as 30 minutes using 32 kW DC public charging or 1 hr 24mins using a 7 kW AC Wallbox at home.
Performance and capability will also be uncompromised, with a 0-100km/h acceleration in just 6.4 seconds for the Evoque P300e and 6.6 seconds for the Discovery Sport P300e.
