BMW and Jaguar Alliance for EV Parts
BMW and Jaguar Land Rover announced an alliance to build parts unique to EVs. The focus will be on electric drive units (EDUs) which include motors, transmissions and power electronics. The companies will share development costs but will manufacture the parts independently for their own cars.
Electrification is a priority BMW which plans to build 25 new plug-in models by 2025. Jaguar Land Rover has said it will offer both all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions of every model it sells by 2025.
