Volvo Recycles Bus Batteries for Solar Storage

As solar ramps up and electric vehicles have been on the market for a few years, car manufacturers are starting to look for ways to get more life from old electric car batteries by recycling them as Stationary Electric Storage.

Volvo, which builds trucks and buses in addition to cars, is experimenting using 14 used batteries of its old electric buses to store solar energy generated in an apartment complex in Sweden.
