NOKIAN RECOGNIZED FOR ITS COMMITMENT TO LOWERING CO2 EMISSIONS
By Éric Descarries
For the fourth year in a row, Finnish manufacturer Nokian has been recognized by CDP Climate Change with an A- rating for its work in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate-related risks. The annual CDP Climate Change report (a global non-profit organization) is considered the most important corporate performance indicator for climate change mitigation.
Nokian had set itself the target of reducing its direct CO2 emissions by 52% per tonne of production by 2030 (compared to 2015). This goal was achieved in 2023, the year during which the manufacturer began erecting its new plant in Romania. It will soon become the industry’s first CO2-free plant.
