SUBARU AND TOYOTA REPORT SUCCESSFUL EV SALES
By Anne Bourgoin
The electric vehicle (EV) sales market may be slowing down, but Subaru and Toyota’s Q2 sales are showing definite growth. According to U.S. sales data, it seems that drivers waited for their favourite brand to market an electric model before committing themselves.
Subaru and Toyota enjoy a high level of popularity and loyalty among their customers. Jeff Buchanan, Toyota’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, explains that “two thirds of bZ4X drivers are EV novices, and about half of them already own a Toyota. When it comes to new technologies, buyers want to be comfortable with the brand they choose.”
Québec sales of the Toyota bZ4X in 2023 were up 515 %, and the model ranks among the top six best-selling EVs.
