NGEN STIMULATES INNOVATION IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES
This fall, five innovative projects in the electric vehicle (EV) sector will take shape thanks to the support of Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen). This federally backed organization aims to strengthen supply chains for EVs and batteries. NGen will inject $13.5 million, while the ten participating Canadian companies will contribute a further $26.5 million, bringing the total investment to $40 million.
Each project, which pairs two companies, will focus on a specific aspect.
- The collaboration between Dana Canada and KA Imaging will focus on the development of advanced manufacturing processes for EV power electronics and heat exchangers.
- Flex-Ion and SPM Automation will work on lithium-ion batteries.
- Green Graphite Technologies and Calumix Technologies will pursue the revalorization of recycled graphite for batteries.
- Nano One and Worley Chemetics will join forces to improve manufacturing processes for battery materials.
- Plasmagear and Ionomir Innovations will be developing more efficient fuel cells.
These initiatives are among the 211 collaborative projects supported by NGen across the country.
