HYUNDAI ADOPTS ADVANCED NIKON CT SCANNER IN SAFETY LAB
Hyundai Motor North America has installed Nikon’s X-Ray computed tomography (CT) system in its new US$51.4 million Safety Test and Investigation Laboratory (STIL) in Michigan. This technology enables nondestructive inspection of crucial automotive components like airbag inflators, lock mechanisms, and seat switches. The system’s advanced features, such as large scanning volume and dual-detector functionality, provide exceptional inspection capabilities.
Ben Michajlyszyn, STIL director, emphasized that the Nikon CT system offers detailed insights into internal structures quickly, enhancing safety analysis. Chris Peitsch, Nikon Metrology’s global sales manager, highlighted the system’s flexibility and high ROI. This collaboration underscores Hyundai’s commitment to quality and safety in its vehicles, ensuring efficient, accurate, and hazard-free inspections.
