CADILLAC ANNOUNCES A NEW CUM, THE OPTIQ
By Éric Descarries
Last week, General Motors’ Cadillac brand announced that it would soon be producing an all-new entry-level electric vehicle. The OPTIQ crossover is scheduled to go on sale next year. At the same time, Cadillac released a photo of its prototype. This small CUV should be positioned under the mid-size LYRIQ in the prestigious American brand’s portfolio.
GM expects to offer a fully electric range by 2030. The OPTIQ will also be aimed at the Chinese market (where it was unveiled last summer) and the European market. Let’s not forget that Cadillac has already announced the Escalade IQL, an electric version of the well-known large SUV that will go into production in the summer of 2024. Cadillac is also expected to eventually launch an electrified version of the Escalade ESV by 2025, but this has not yet been confirmed.
