FORD REGISTERS THE “FLASH” NAME

By Éric Descarries

All the signs are that American automaker Ford is about to unveil a performance division of its electric cars, just as Hyundai did with its N line of electric cars.

After unveiling the Mach-E 1400 styling study, entering the Supervan electric supervan in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and supporting the modification of an electrified 1978 F100, Ford is now lifting the veil on its conceptual F-150 Lightning performance vehicle, dubbed the “F-150 Flash,” a name the automaker has registered. All indications are that Ford is about to launch a performance version of its Lightning, as the automaker released a photo of its president, Jim Farley, lifting the corner of the veil covering a prototype of the brand in the presence of Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo.
