Intel to invest $20B for Ohio chip hub

Technology giant Intel Corp. has announced it plans to spend some $20 billion on an impressive chipmaking hub on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio. By doing so, the company intends it to become the world’s biggest silicon-manufacturing site. Intel announced it would begin the construction of not one but two fabrication plants on a 1,000-acre site in a suburb called New Albany. It expects it to be operational by 2025. Intel will also have the option to expand to 2,000 acres and up to eight fabrication facilities. Intel Corp. has been investing billions of dollars in automotive technologies over the last few years.
