Audi will stop making internal combustion engines

German manufacturer Audi recently announced it would stop producing cars powered by internal combustion engines, including hybrids, and that, as soon as 2026. The news, according to a report from Reuters, states that Audi is seriously pursuing a master plan involving that every vehicle in its lineup should be an EV within the next five years. As this is written, only four Audi models are currently full EVs. Audi is thus facing a giant task in replacing its entire lineup of sedans, SUVs, and sports cars. Yet, many serious observers predict that the automaker should be able to introduce a significant number of new Audi EVs in such a short time.
