Fiat to go fully electric by 2030

Fiat’s lineup will gradually become electric only between 2025 and 2030. That was the statement Fiat CEO Olivier François made last week in Milan. That makes Fiat the latest major automaker to take such a direction. Let’s remember that Fiat is part of the newly formed Stellantis giant. The 2030 date is when some countries plan to ban the sale of cars powered purely by internal-combustion engines. The move has actually begun with the arrival last year of the redesigned 500, a model offered exclusively with battery-electric power. Unfortunately, it is not yet available in North America. The production of many electrical versions of the 500 is scheduled to happen in 2022 alongside a baby Jeep (and possibly a baby Alfa Romeo).
