Pirelli designs 3 new tires for Rivian EVs

Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli has recently developped special versions of its Scorpion tires for the vehicles electric start-up automaker Rivian is coming up with, namely the R1T pick-up and R1S SUV expected to be mass produced starting  June 2021. For those, Pirelli created versions of its Scorpion Verde All Season, Scorpion Zero All Season and Scorpion All Terrain. These tires will be recognizable by the «R1V and Elect» markings on their sidewalls (Elect being the marketing identification of Pirelli tires for electric vehicles).

Pirelli spent almost two years co-developping these low resistance products in three unique sizes for 20-, 21- and 22-inch wheels including the 275/55R21 Scorpion Verde All Season tire with its size new to the industry.
