41 % OF CANADIANS ARE CONSIDERING EVs FOR THEIR NEXT VEHICLE

By Anne Bourgoin

The latest national survey from Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) shows that 41 % of Canadians are considering buying an electric vehicle (EV) as their next vehicle, while 35 % favour a gas engine model.

As a result of the survey, and after learning more about EVs, 62 % of respondents are now considering an EV as their next vehicle. According to EMC, buying intentions jumped by 40 % between the start and end of the survey.

“The data clearly shows a growing enthusiasm among consumers. Not only are more and more people choosing EVs over gasoline-powered vehicles for their next purchase, but their interest in EVs is increasing as they become better informed. This shift in perception marks a significant step forward on our journey towards a more sustainable future,” said EMC President and CEO Daniel Breton.
