BIOMETRICS, PERSONIFICATION AND UNIQUENESS
By Marc Bardiaux
Biometrics is one of the many technological innovations that will forever change the automotive landscape. Biometrics is defined as the set of computer techniques that automatically recognize an individual on the basis of his or her physical characteristics. This technology is mainly used to identify the person authorized to use a motor vehicle by certain physical characteristics that are unique to him or her. The result is enhanced security through seamless identification of the user and traceability of vehicle use. Other functions focus on the health, safety and comfort of the car’s occupants, detecting driver fatigue among other things.
Biometrics is shedding new light on the automotive world, for users and stakeholders alike.
