POLESTAR CLAIMS 70% RECHARGE IN 10 MINUTES

Automaker Polestar has teamed up with Israeli company StoreDot to create an electric prototype that recharged a Polestar 5 from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes.
StoreDot’s Extreme Fast Charging (XFC) technology has been installed on a Polestar 5 sedan scheduled for 2025. In a press release, Polestar explains that “the battery started charging at 310 kW and increased to 370 kW as it approached 80%.” The prototype was tested on a 77 kWh battery, whose capacity could theoretically reach 100 kWh.
The Swedish company indicates that XFC technology could be installed on some of its future models: “We generally have a development cycle of two to three years. We could put this technology into production on some of our upcoming models within this timeframe.” It should also be noted that this technology is compatible with the network’s 350 kWh charging stations.
