CANADIANS STILL INTERESTED IN EVs ACCORDING TO VOLVO
By Anne Bourgoin
Volvo Car Canada’s new Mobility Trends 2024 report shows that 64% of Canadians are considering an electric or hybrid model as their next vehicle in the coming five years.
The majority of drivers who are not considering the purchase of an EV invoke a high price tag, and four out of five underline a lack of public recharging infrastructure to make the purchase of an EV attractive. Two thirds also think their environmental benefits are overestimated.
“Since the early adopters have already converted to EVs, we’re now focusing on the broader base of potential EV owners who are put off by costs and infrastructure concerns,” said Matt Girgis, General Manager of Volvo Car Canada, who took the opportunity to remind us of the arrival of their smallest, and most affordable SUV: the EX30.
