MORE POWER FOR THE MUSTANG MACH-E
By Éric Descarries
While the electric car craze seems to be losing steam, American automaker Ford is taking the opportunity to reignite consumer interest in its products, including, of course, its popular Mustang Mach-E. That’s why Ford is announcing that the most powerful version of this SUV will now benefit from a new rear electric motor (designed and manufactured by Ford) producing an additional 100 lb-ft of torque. This will enable acceleration from 0 km/h to 96 km/h in some 3.3 seconds (faster than the Tesla Model Y or Porsche Macan 4 Electric).
What’s more, the Mustang Mach-E’s battery will be able to recharge 20% faster. As a reminder, Mustang Mach-Es are now available with a connection to Tesla Superchargers, and these SUVs can be recharged from 10% to 80% in 36.2 minutes, that’s 8.8 minutes faster than before. Available on almost all Mustang Mach-E models, the new engine comes as standard with the Rally version.
