THE FIAT 500e IS SET TO CHARM NORTH AMERICA BY ELECTRIFYING AN ITALIAN ICON

By Isabelle Havasy

Stellantis North America’s first battery-electric vehicle (BEV), the Fiat 500e, is set to debut in early 2024. This two-door, four-seat fully electric vehicle is the lightest passenger BEV on the market. It weighs just over 1361 kg. With its 42 kWh battery, it promises an estimated range of 240 kilometres. With a Level 2 charger, the 500e will recover its power in about four hours and 15 minutes, while connected to an 85 kW DC fast charger, it can go from 0% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes.

Larger than its ICE predecessor, the electric Fiat 500 “is the ideal urban commuter, brimming with coolness and charm while delivering its sustainable mission.” Although it maintains the iconic 500 design, it incorporates modern elements like LED lighting, e-latch aero door handles, and an updated front grill for better aerodynamics. Its interior pay homage to the 1957 Fiat 500 with a contemporary twist, featuring a 10.25-inch centre screen and a 7-inch digital cluster.

Performance-wise, the 500e offers 118 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. Ranking in the top five for BEV sales globally, it will be sold in North America for USD 32,500 (excluding destination charges).

FIAT’s marketing strategy for the 500e includes a “product drop” approach, creating various limited-edition models to maintain consumer interest. For its first appearance on our continent, it will be all dressed in red. By purchasing the 2024 FIAT (500e) RED edition, you’ll contribute to the Global Fund for AIDS treatment and prevention.

Symbolizing FIAT’s commitment to sustainability, Italian design, and enjoyable driving experience, the 500e embodies the spirit of “La Dolce Vita” in an electrifying way.
