KIA: FIRST ELECTRIC INSPIRATION CENTRE IN QUÉBEC

 By Anne Bourgoin

The first Electric Inspiration Centre in the province of Québec (after the one in Vancouver) has opened its doors in Québec City. This initiative by La Force Kia, which brings together the Kia Québec, Kia Sainte-Foy and Kia Val-Bélair dealerships, is a place where people can gain a better understanding of the electric shift: recharging stations, total cost of an electric vehicle compared with a gasoline-powered vehicle, estimating range according to our needs, understanding subsidies, etc. The 10,000 sq. ft. facility houses the Centre and a large mechanical workshop. Fourteen Kia electric vehicles are also available for test drives by appointment. No vehicles are sold on the site, as the Centre is neither a car dealership nor a sales outlet. It’s a place created to inform the public about electric vehicles (EVs) and inspire those who are still hesitating to take the plunge.

“Quebecers are looking for a place where they can learn more about electric vehicles and drive them before taking the plunge. […] Having a permanent education space is an important step for the future of electrification in Québec,” explained Serge Beaudoin, President of Groupe La Force Kia.
