FLO INVESTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FASTER LEVEL 2 CHARGER

By Éric Descarries

FLO, the Québec-based company that makes chargers for electric cars at its plants in Shawinigan, Quebec and in Auburn Hills, Michigan, recently announced that it would invest some $23.8 million in the development of a next-generation Level 2 charger that would be much faster.

FLO will receive approximately $6 million from the provincial government to do so. This project should allow the hiring of 25 new employees in Québec. Announced last February, this charger should provide an 80% charge to most EVs in less than 15 minutes. It should also be offered in different configurations up to 19 kWh to simplify installation and access for users. FLO believes it will be able to launch this new charger in 2024.
