THE IMPORTANCE OF TIRE DEALERS IN THE ELECTRIC TRANSITION

Tire dealers are at the forefront of the EV revolution. Tires are “the most important range-extender in an electric vehicle,” Michelin CEO Alexis Garcin said in an online conference for journalists.

During his Feb. 2 address, Garcin highlighted three key pillars in the business: people, profits as well as sustainability efforts. The CEO reiterated the importance of the role of independent tire dealers in educating consumers.

Since the company’s inception, Michelin has continued to innovate, from the first green tire launched in 1992 to last year’s unveiling of the Pilot Sport EV, a tire that can increase vehicle range by up to 60 percent while reducing noise levels.
