AND NOW, THE VINFAST VF6 AND VF7

By Éric Descarries

The Vietnamese automaker VinFast recently made a first splash in the international automotive world by introducing its medium—and full-sized SUVs VF8 and VF9 that are actually on sale right now in North America. But the newcomer has no intention of stopping there. Indeed, at the most recent Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, Vinfast unveiled two other models that will go on sale next spring in our part of the world, the smaller VF6 and VF7 electric crossovers. Built with designs by Italian creator Torino Design, these two vehicles should appeal to younger motorists. Powered by electric motors making the equivalent of 174 and 201 horsepower with a 59.6 kWh battery, the front-wheel drive VF6 Eco and VF6 Plus should have a range of 399 km and 381 km respectively. As far as the VF7 Eco FWD is concerned, it will rely on the 201-horsepower motor for a 450 km range while the VF7 AWD is concerned, it will be powered by a 348 hp motor capable of some 430 km range. Both versions run with a 75.3 kWh battery.
