OTTAWA GRANTS 27 MILLIONS TO CALGARY’S E3 LITHIUM TO PROCESS EV MINERALS

Canada’s rapidly growing electric vehicle supply chain just got another financial boost. This time, it’s from the federal government. François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Industry, announced that his administration will provide $27 million to Calgary-based E3 Lithium to build an $87 million lithium production plant. The main objective is to provide a long-term, sustainable source of lithium supply. E3 Lithium says the plant is expected to be constructed between Edmonton and Calgary and would be the first step towards a full-scale lithium production facility that could produce up to 20,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium. The project is expected to create some 166 jobs.
