A NEW RESEARCH CENTRE FOR THE INNOVATIVE VEHICLE INSTITUTE

On November 25, Cégep de Saint-Jérôme and the Institut du véhicule innovant (IVI) have inaugurated a new research and development center. “Equipped with manufacturing and assembly workshops, state-of-the-art laboratories and dynamometer areas adapted to light and heavy vehicles, the centre has everything it takes to become a unique place of innovation in Québec and Canada. This is a crucial step in the realization of IVI’s 2025 vision to position itself as a North American leader in vehicle innovation.”

Construction of the new building, located in the industrial district of Saint-Jérôme, began in the spring of 2021 and was completed in the fall of 2022. Financial assistance of $12.7 million from the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie and a contribution from Canada Economic Development for Québec Regions made this project possible.

The Cégep de Saint-Jérôme has developed a unique training program, the Attestation of College Studies in Electric Vehicles, and is the only college in Québec to offer it.
