General Motors recently announced the launch of Ultium Home and Ultium Commercial, which, along with Ultium Charge 360, will create a holistic ecosystem of energy management products and services. Under the GM Energy name, the new offering is aimed at consumers and businesses. Services that encompass two-way charging, vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) applications, solar products, software applications, cloud-based management tools, microgrid solutions, hydrogen fuel cells, will open the door to reselling energy from EVs and stationary storage batteries to utilities during peak and high consumption periods.

“GM Energy’s mission is to offer customers access to a full range of energy products and services, including solutions beyond the vehicle, accelerating the seamless transition to an all-electric future,” said Travis Hester, vice president of GM EV Growth Operations.

Several companies have already signed agreements with the U.S. giant, including SunPower, a leading U.S. solar energy business.
