A NEW ELECTRIC BATTERY CAPABLE OF OPERATING FOR 100 YEARS ON OUR DOORSTEP?

The Journal of the Electrochemical Society has recently published an article on the development of a battery that could last up to 100 years. Behind this innovation is a Tesla battery research group established in Canada, in partnership with Dalhousie University of Nova Scotia. Focused on finding various solutions to increase the life of electric vehicle batteries, the group has developed a high energy density nickel-based battery. Thanks to its greater energy density promoted by the use of an electrolyte with pure lithium salts (LiFSI), it retains the properties of current batteries and displays an exceptional resistance to time provided that their temperature does not exceed 25 degrees.
