HERTZ BEGINS RECEIVING POLESTAR 2S
In April 2022, Hertz announced a partnership with Polestar to deliver 65,000 cars over the next five years, completing one of the largest single orders for electric cars ever. This agreement ”offers a significant number of potential future customers the opportunity to experience an EV for the first time.”
The start of deliveries is also a testament to the operational capability of Volvo’s electric division in this space crowded with multiple startups.
In the long term, the Swedish EV maker, owned by the Geely Automotive Group, wants to increase its annual sales to 290,000 units by the end of 2025. In the current year alone, Polestar has seen a 290 percent increase over the same period last year as more than 32,000 customers placed an order for a Polestar 2.
