SECURING THE FUTURE OF THE NORTH AMERICAN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY BY CREATING AN END-TO-END ECO-SYSTEM FOR EV’s

On May 23, 2022, Snow Lake Lithium Ltd. highlighted the necessity for a complete electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem to secure the future of the North American automotive industry. To successfully transition to a clean energy economy and remain globally competitive, battery development and manufacturing are of strategic importance says the company.

According to Philip Gross, president and CEO of Snow Lake Lithium, “We need to create a vertically integrated national supply chain to achieve battery production at scale and secure forthcoming resources.” Governments, OEMs, battery manufacturers and academia must come together to develop an integrated and comprehensive electrified ecosystem that includes lithium mining and processing plants, as well as manufacturing capacity and charging infrastructure, the release states.

In the next few months, Snow Lake Lithium will continue its engineering assessment and drilling program across the Thompson Brothers Lithium project site, with the expectation that mining operations will move into commercial production in late 2024. Based in Manitoba, the mine is located on an area covering over 55,000 acres and is expected to produce 160,000 tons of 6% lithium spodumene annually over a 10-year period. Currently, only 1% of the site has been explored and the company is confident that upcoming exploration will increase the forecast.

“Snow Lake Lithium is committed to creating and operating a fully renewable and sustainable lithium mine capable of providing a traceable, carbon-neutral, and safe product for the North American EV and battery market.”
