THE CADILLAC LYRIC, A FIRST STEP TOWARDS ELECTRIFICATION

The Cadillac brand, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, had a record year for sales in Canada in 2021, with a 5.3% increase over 2020, which previously held that position. The company wants to electrify its entire offering by 2030. The transition begins with the Cadillac Lyriq, the first electric vehicle from General Motors’ luxury division, which went into production at the Spring Hill, Tennessee plant in late March. The SUV will feature the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. The AWD version is scheduled for delivery in early 2023. Cadillac will also enhance its portfolio with the addition of the Escalade-V, “the most powerful and exclusive” to date. Full details will be revealed on May 11.
