More Alfa Romeo Electrified Cars to Come

Last week, Alfa Romeo launched its first electrified vehicle, the 2023 Tonale, a compact crossover that will be available in some markets with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. However, Alfa Romeo plans to be a full-electric brand as early as 2027. The first of the automaker’s future electric vehicles will arrive in 2024.

We learned from this brand part of the Stellantis group that its first EV will be smaller than the compact Tonale making it a subcompact. The small vehicle should be riding on an updated version of parent company’s CMP platform (designed for subcompact cars) and supports battery-electric powertrains. This platform is currently found in Europe under subcompact crossovers like the DS 3 Crossback and Opel Mokka, both of which have electric variants but are not marketed in North America. Called the Brennero, the small EV would be built in Poland where a subcompact Jeep crossover, the brand’s first dedicated off-road EV expected in 2023, would be built!
