Future Electric F-Series Will Have Its Own Platform

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning EV is expected to launch until this coming spring. Yet, Ford is already laying out plans for the next-generation electric F-Series pickup. As the automaker already announced its plans to invest 7 billion USD  to  build three new EV and battery production facilities last September, it also announced that a next-generation electric F-Series would be built at one of those plants. More specifically, Ford CEO Jim Farley recently told American publication Automotive News that this upcoming electric F-Series will have its own dedicated platform. This future model should be built at the automaker’s new Blue Oval City campus in Stanton, Tennessee. The same facility should also produce EV batteries. The site should be up and running by 2025.
