RETHINKING THE CHARGING EXPERIENCE

The arrival of electric vehicles with faster charging capabilities on the market may transform the face of current stations. In a webinar, experts discussed ways to improve the customer experience, expand the network and avoid slowing down the adoption of this growing mode of transportation. Like the traditional station, EV charging stations will need to go well beyond simply bailing out kilowatts. While the Plug&Charge payment technology facilitates the transaction, more needs to be offered to users: adjacent rest areas, protection from the weather, etc. In addition, the costs associated with the implementation of new ultra-fast charging infrastructure limit its accessibility, especially in remote areas and small communities. A partnership with an electricity provider could reduce the financial burden of installing these 350 kW infrastructures, which require an investment of up to $500,000.
